Minimal Sand

Porthcurnick Beach on the Roseland Peninsula, Cornwall - Sunday 27 February at around 8am.

Bright, blowy and very fresh. I’d forgotten my fingerless gloves so my hands were starting to get cold. A few dog walkers, a couple of swimmers and one other person with camera in hand taking shots of the surf.

Deliberately minimal, I took this shot pointing the camera straight down at the sand. The rich tones of the sand suggest a warmth that my hands (and body) didn’t feel.
