ABOUT
Born 1960, Enfield, UK.
Richard Scrase didn’t start taking photographs with what he refers to as ‘intent’ until September 2019 when he joined a ‘recreational photography’ evening class at a local further education college. In the year or so before that he’d thought he could probably take a good photograph though hadn’t actually tried.
In the years before that Scrase had worked for a short while in the music industry before becoming a welfare adviser and later a lawyer before returning to welfare advice. Having since stopped working (and by then taking the occasional good photograph) in 2023 Scrase embarked on a Photography degree at Falmouth University – Cornwall having been home for him and his family since the early 2000s.
Having now completed the degree, Scrase will continue to work on landscape-based projects while endeavouring to establish an imprint through which he’ll publish aspiring (though probably younger) photographers.
